Team Eureka placed first in Region 6 in Mensa Culturequest XV!

On March 28 of this year Mensa held its Culturequest XV, a national trivia and esoteric knowledge contest. The state of Arkansas participated for the first time under the name of Team Eureka. The contest consisted of 260 questions to be answered in ninety minutes. The scores were announced in Las Vegas, NV on July 1st.
Team Eureka members were:
- Team Captain - Von Duke Heath of Des Arc
- Joe Barda
- Bruce Crabtree
- Forrest Jacob
- and Bill Westerman, all of Eureka Springs

Team Eureka won first place in Region 6 consisting of Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas and New Mexico and tied for a respectable 12th place out of 140 teams across the nation.
Mensa is an international organization that provides social interaction, mental stimulation and more for anyone who scores in the top 2% of the general population on a standardized intelligence test. Mensa also accepts prior evidence from over 200 tests including SAT, GRE and LSAT. One in fifty people qualifies for membership.
The team also won a $100 scholarship by winning.
