A Few Thoughts
By Duke Heath
Congratulations are in order to our entire group. M-Ark has received
national recognition once again by being nominated twice by the
American Mensa Publications Recognition Program. These are our seventh
and eighth national nominations over the last four years. This year
we were nominated for Best Theme Issues and for Boldest and Brightest
treatment of a controversial topic; Abortion. Thanks to all who
contributed to last years issues as well as this month's.
In the next issue we will be searching for a solution to the problems
afflicting the Arkansas education system. As usual, I will accept
essays on any other topic also.
Anyone who has not renewed their membership in Mensa needs to do
so as soon as possible. We have over 60 who have lapsed.
I appreciate my brother writing the Lasik article this month. His
explanation to me of the procedure was so interesting and thorough
that I thought other optically challenged members might appreciate
the info. I also appreciate Bill Westerman's story on one day's
notice. Thanks Bill.
I am an input needing dude and I want to hear from you. What are
your thoughts about my substituting famous quotes for factoids?
Please send comments on any of the articles you found interesting
or disturbing. Positive and negative criticism are both equally
welcome. on being it is the only bird that sings with its feet in
deep sh.. I got my suitcase back in Atlanta and carried it on the
next flight. Delta found it light enough. Now the choice is to change
either passport or airline, and I have an idea of which one I may
change.
